[RL - Gai's Wondrous Winter Birthday Bash]

spandex_rexJust as Gai had said, he put together a simple but decorative outdoor skating rink in a large empty lot. The walls of the rink had green ribbons around the inside and outside, and there was a small booth at the side where guests could rent skates if they didn't have any of their own. Nearby was a restaurant, with warm lights enticing those who want a break from the winter chill.
And to set the mood just right, light snow was drifting down on the scene; quite a charming set-up really.
((OOC: I'll be setting up separate comment threads, first for the rink then later for the restaurant since they'll be going there for dinner. This isn't supposed to be anything fancy, but hijinks are cool. :3 Mingle, have fun, so on and so forth.))

Gai picked up the mirror with his spare hand and took a moment to look at himself in it. He parted his lips in another one of his character smiles, complete with tooth glint. Yes, this would be a useful mirror.
Wait a minute. Useful mirror...Jiraiya-sama...

Got too hasty...I forgot my mirror, and...
All Gai could do once the memories came back and the realization hit was to laugh sheepishly.

"I didn't know if you had ever gotten one, but I hope that as you get older you can slow down long enough to pack it."
What was left unsaid was "instead of one of those speedsuits." After all, it was his birthday, and it wasn't like he was angry or sore about the prior incident.

Gai just realized that he had been standing there in a nigh-terrified daze as he processed Jiraiya's words. Once again he chuckled foolishly. "I will make sure to pack this every day before I leave the house, no matter what! This is my promise to you Jiraiya-sama, so that I will never again make the same mistake with you or anyone else!"
Finished, of course, with a Nice Guy Pose.
